EFCC Is Wasting Time - Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is only on wild goose chase in the State, noting that "the anti corruption commission has now shifted attention to the finances of Ekiti State after its failure to establish any link between him and fund from the Office of the National Security Adviser under Col Sambo Dasuki (Retd)."
He said the EFCC was now harassing banks in Ekiti, seeking for records of government finances and chasing contractors, claiming that the contractors gave him kickback.
"They are on vendetta mission. They said I collected money from Dasuki and I have told them that I did not collect a dime from Dasuki. I have N300 million in my fixed Deposit Account in Zenith Bank and I declared it in my Assets Declaration Form.
"I have challenged them to publish the statement made to the EFCC by Dasuki where he said he gave Senator Musiliu Obanikoro money to give me or where Obanikoro himself said he gave me money.
"Since they have seen that the Dasuki money issue won't offer them the implication of Fayose that they desperately needed, they are now harassing contractors in the State. But I can assure them that their efforts will come to nothing," the governor said.
While emphasizing that the EFCC do not have any power on State finances, the governor said; "As provided by Section 125 subsections (2), (5) and (6) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is the House of Assembly of a State that is vested with powers to superintend over the funds of a State. Our Constitution did not place Ekiti State House of Assembly under the control of the Attorney-General of the Federation or the EFCC."
He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) was a party with history of debts in Ekiti State, disclosing that; "I left N10.4bn and N6.9bn was handed over to Segun Oni. Their own government handed over debts. They handed over debts in 2003 and did same in 2014."
He called for proper restructuring of the country in line with report of the 2014 National Conference.
"Nigeria has not been properly structured and that's why we are facing all these problems. Remember it was those in power now that clamoured for restructuring when they were in opposition. Now that they have the federal powers and they are using the powers to oppress the people, they are against restructuring of Nigeria."
The governor, who declared that he had no personal scores to settle with President Buhari, said; "I am not attacking Buhari, I am only telling him the truth. I was 24 year old when Buhari became military head of state, we queued then before we could purchase essential commodities, this is the same way things were difficult."
He reiterated his call to the federal government to declare emergency on agriculture, saying; "It is not enough to say people should go back to farming. The government must provide necessary farming equipment because you don't expect the present day farming to be done with hoes and cutlasses.
"Again, apart from the north, where do we have functional irrigation system? If our people must go back to farming, especially in the Southwest, we need the federal government assistance on irrigation."

Emzor Pharmaceutical Pleads To Government To Empower Drug Producers

Group Managing Director (GMD) of Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, Dr. Stella Okoli has recently called on government to empower local manufacturers in the country by availing funds to them as at when due.
Speaking in Lagos at the 30 years anniversary celebration of it’s flagship brand, Emzor Paracetamol, she said local manufacturers are the engine of growth in every economy and government needs to create an enabling environment for them to operate.
Okoli while unveiling the special anniversary park for the celebration noted that for Nigeria’s economy to recover from recession, local manufacturers should be empowered to meet the country’s commercial necessities as well as identify needs of other nations for export purposes.
She cited that manufacturing countries of the world do not go into recession because they meet needs of their people locally as well as export to other nations. “We must encourage our own local manufacturers to attain this,” she added.
“The current forex situation has made our suppliers think less of us as a country and that is not good enough,” Okoli remarked.
She advanced that for government to tackle the situation, a percentage of forex ought to be given to manufacturers, though with a close monitoring mechanism. Underlining the major challenge encountered by local pharmaceutical industries was Emzor’s National Sales Manager, Pharm. Folorunso Alaran who said, it is cost effective to import drug than produce them locally due to the country’s chaotic drug distribution system which is not the best.”
He explained, “people in the open market import drugs at cheaper and duty free rates, as compared to local manufacturers who import raw materials for production at high cost.”
Alaran pointed out that the situation has created an uneven playground for local producers who are rather the nation’s employers of labour. He however appealed to the government to look into the sourcing of pharmaceutical raw materials to boost production of more indigenous industries.
Reassuring Nigerians of an affordable wellbeing, which Emzor terms “Wellocracy” Alaran said, there are Emzor distributors’ associations in different markets who engage in strict surveillance to curb circulation of fake and substandard products in the system.
“One would hardly find fakes, and that is why the market is never dry of Emzor paracetamol,” he stated. Okoli said, Emzor in the past 30 years have produced over a 100 products and hopes to take care of all products needed for Nigerian illnesses in 20 years to come.
Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited is a private indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing group founded in 1984 by Dr. Stella Okoli. The company is into the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and medical consumables. Its holding company, Emzor Chemists Limited opened for retail business in 1977 in Lagos.

Naira Reduces Despite Market Change

Despite the interest rate hike by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN ) last Tuesday to try to lure foreign investors into boosting liquidity in the interbank market , the naira yesterday continued its reduction against the dollar , weakening to N 330. 12 to the greenback.
Traders said that $ 10 million was traded on the interbank market yesterday , attributing the local currency ’ s weakness to the fact that investors were pushing the currency lower to test the limit of how far it can fall , given a spread of almost 12 per cent between the official and parallel market naira rates . Reuters quoted a trader as saying, “ If we have more people trying to buy the naira then it should strengthen . I think we will keep seeing the trickles …
I don ’ t think we will see large inflows until the fundamentals of the economy improves . ” The CBN ’ s rate setting body , the Monetary Policy Committee ( MPC) at its meeting last Tuesday hiked the benchmark interest rate- the Monetary Policy rate (MPR )- by 200 basis points to 14 per cent .
Most local analysts , citing data showing that the economy is entering a recession , had predicted that MPC would leave the rate unchanged . However , the CBN Governor , Mr . Godwin Emefiele, who announced the decision of the MPC, said that in taking the decision to increase the MPR , members of the committee noted that the negative real interest rate was not helping the foreign exchange market , as foreign investors had remained lukewarm and were unwilling to bring in new capital . He said the decision to raise interest rate would in addition to curbing inflation , boost liquidity of the foreign exchange market and ensure its sustainability.
The CBN boss also said members were of the opinion that the liquidity of the foreign exchange market would boost manufacturing and industrial output, thereby stimulating the much needed growth.
Reacting to the rate hike , the Managing Director, Financial Derivatives Company (FDC ) Limited , Mr . Bismarck Rewane, said although the decision would lead to an increase in borrowing cost for the Small and Medium -scale Enterprises ( SMEs ) , it was a tactical move to attract the much -needed foreign capital into the economy . Similarly, analysts at Renaissance Capital , said the firm backed the decision, as it would help the CBN to solve the key problem of attracting dollars into the economy

WAYS TO KNOW IF YOUR GIRL STILL LOVES YOU

How to Know if Your Girlfriend Really Loves You
"O love is a crooked thing, there is nobody wise enough to find out all that is in it," wrote the poet William Butler Yeats. It can be hard to tell if someone is in love with you, even if you have been dating for awhile. But love can be expressed in many different ways, and recognizing the qualities of a long term commitment, as well as paying attention to your girlfriend’s words and actions, could help you determine if she loves you.

Method One of Three:

1. Recognizing the Signs of a Long Term Commitment
Be aware of the difference between falling in love and staying in love. While there are many complicated feelings associated with falling in love with someone, it is usually a very passive and emotional experience. But staying in love can be incredibly difficult and requires a more active and involved approach to the relationship.
*.Think of “love” as a verb, or an action you have to continue to reinforce and support as you move forward in your relationship. Consider how your girlfriend actively contributes and cultivates her relationship with you, and if your relationship is just as good, if not better, than when you first fell in love.
*.Through action and words, your girlfriend can reinforce and commit to the relationship every day, even in small or seemingly insignificant ways.

2. Consider how you both deal with conflict in your relationship. Most couples with poor conflict resolution skills engage in Fight, Flight, or Freeze behaviors. So, they fight and stay mad, sometimes holding grudges or resentment for months or years. They take flight and avoid uncomfortable or difficult issues by sweeping them under the rug. Or, they freeze up emotionally and shut down, blocking out any attempts at communicating or discussing the issue.
*.Successful couples who are committed to the relationship for the long term will try to work on solving any problems and letting them go. They will focus on taking care of the issue, rather than attacking each other or freezing each other out.
*.In a healthy, loving relationship, both partners should be able to forgive and forget, as any lingering resentment that is not addressed and dealt with can lead to further drama or conflict down the line and will work against sustaining the relationship for the long term.

3. Think about if you both have similar priorities and life goals. This is an important step to committing on a practical level to being with your girlfriend and will be an important step for her commitment to you.
*.Opposites may attract, but they rarely make for a good long-term relationship, and compatibility in your tastes and preferences, as well as your values, priorities, and life goals, will help to create a deep and lasting connection between you and your girlfriend.

4. Ask your friends and family how they feel about your girlfriend. If the people closest to you are encouraging you to break up or get away from your girlfriend, this may be an indication the person is not for you.
*.Though it’s important to trust your own instincts and feelings, it’s usually a positive sign if your friends and family support your relationship with your girlfriend and think you have long term potential together.

Who is Jesus...??? (Sunday Exhaltation with RHS)

Scripture states that God is eternal (without beginning or end) and has reigned as the ultimate authority since before the beginnin
g of the universe (Psalm 93:2). God chose to create the universe for His own glory and enjoyment. His last act of creation was mankind (Genesis 1:27—2:1), whom He made in His own image. The very fact that God is the Creator asserts His role as the Supreme Being—the One with all authority
  1. God Himself is three Persons in one—the Trinity. Each member of the Trinity shares equally the role of Supreme Being. This includes the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity. Since Jesus is equal to God, He shares in God's supremacy over all of creation.
  2. There are some who believe Jesus was just a "good person," or maybe even a prophet, who lived a righteous life but was not actually God. The Bible clearly refutes this belief. In John 1:1, Scripture says that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The "Word" here refers to Jesus, who "became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14). Jesus Himself stated on more than one occasion that He was equal with God (John 5:17–18; 10:30; 17:5).
  3. Jesus also proved His deity by rising from the dead three days after He was crucified on a cross for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Without His resurrection, the Christian faith would be dead.
  4. So, Jesus Christ is supreme over all creation (Colossians 1:15-16), including angels (Hebrews 1:7-8). He is supreme over death (1 Corinthians 15:57). He is supreme over the church, being the Head of the body (Colossians 1:18). "God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church" (Ephesians 1:22 NIV).
  5. Knowing that Christ is supreme, how should we live? Very simply, we can trust Him as our Savior. As God, He paid the price for our sins through His sacrifice and resurrection. We can worship Him as our God—He created all things and rules in heaven. And we can serve Him as our Lord. His power, authority, holiness, and love are worthy of all our worship and eternal devotion.
  6. "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."
  7. —Colossians 1:15–20    .    .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

Making Relationships work..

It takes more than love for your relationship to work.

Although love is the foundation of any happy relationship, love is not enough. In order to have a healthy relationship, both parties have to be willing to work on it. Below you’ll find 18 ways to keep your relationship with your significant other strong.

1. Practice acceptance and appreciation. In his book, “How to Be an Adult in Relationships: The Five Keys to Mindful Loving”, David Richo explains that two of the keys to mindful loving are acceptance and appreciation. Here’s a quote from Richo that expresses this idea: “In a true you-and-I relationship, we are present mindfully, non-intrusively, the way we are present with things in nature. We do not tell a birch tree it should be more like an elm. We face it with no agenda, only appreciation . . .”

2. Recognize that all relationships have their ups and downs. Just as you can’t expect to be happy all the time, you shouldn’t expect your relationship to be at a continuous high.  When you make a long-term commitment to someone you have to be willing to ride the highs, as well as the lows, together.

3. Use the word “we”.  Tamar Chansky, Ph.D., explains that researcher Robert Levenson and his colleagues at the University of California, Berkeley, found that couples who use the word “we” when talking are happier, calmer, and in general are more satisfied with their relationships than couples whose communication is more populated by the pronouns “you”, “me” and “I”.

Dr. Chansky explains that the word “we” is a game changer. It sets off a program of connectedness in the brain so that instead of being in a “you vs. me” mindset, we’re in a collaborative mindset. This collaborative mindset makes us more loving and generous.

4. Follow the three-day gratitude plan. Rita Watson–an Associate Fellow at Yale’s Ezra Stiles College—explains that having an attitude of gratitude will revitalize your love life. Watson indicates that a study involving 77 married heterosexual and monogamous couples found that with expressed gratitude “participants reported that they felt more loving.” She goes on as follows:

“They also reported feeling more peaceful, amused, and proud. They perceived their partner as being more understanding, validating, caring, and generally more responsive. They were more likely to have reported spontaneously thanking their partner for something they’d appreciated on any given day. And they were more satisfied with the quality of their relationship overall.”

In order to get started with bringing more gratitude into your relationship she recommends the following three-day gratitude plan:

Day 1: Find three qualities that you love about your partner and focus on those three qualities for the entire day.
Day 2: Identify three things that irritate you about your partner. Now forgive them for these things.
Day 3: For the entire day speak only kind words to your significant other.
Think of the three day plan as a cleansing which allows you to clear out feelings that keep your relationship from thriving.

5. Keep the 3:1 ratio. Over the course of a day we have a variety of positive and negative experiences. This is also true when it comes to our relationship with our significant other. Most people think that as long as the positive experiences outweigh the negative, everything is fine. However, this isn’t so. It’s the ratio of positive to negative that matters.

Research has shown that the magical ratio for a flourishing relationship is at or above 3:1. That is, you need to have three times more positive experiences with your partner than negative experiences in order to have a healthy relationship.

6. Keep the novelty alive. One of the positive aspects of being in a relationship with someone for a long time is that you really get to know each other. The negative side of this is that the novelty wears off, and humans love novelty.

However, there’s a way to keep the novelty alive: constantly try new activities together. This creates the excitement and the uncertainty that comes from the unknown, even if you’re with someone whom you know as well as the back of your hand.

7. Keep the playfulness alive. We all love to play, regardless of our age. Do the following: have fun together; do something ridiculous together; and just let go. In addition, the next time that your partner says something that bothers you, try responding with a joke instead of getting defensive.

8. Give your partner space. The philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer used porcupines to explain a dilemma which often exists in human relationships. Two porcupines trying to keep warm will move closer to one another. However, if they get too close they prick each other with their spines.

The same thing happens in human relationships: we want closeness, but we also want space. The key is to find that sweet spot at which we feel the warmth that comes from being in a relationship, while at the same time allowing each partner to have enough space so that neither one feels like they’re being pricked by the other’s spines (feelings of lost individuality, feeling crowded, and so on).

9. Show each other daily physical affection. Kory Floyd, Ph.D.–a professor at Hugh Downs School of Communication at Arizona State University—explains that studies show that physical affection has a myriad of benefits. It releases feel-good hormones, it reduces blood pressure, it helps to release stress, it improves mood, and it’s associated with higher relationship satisfaction.

Showing physical affection can be as easy as kissing, holding hands, hugging, giving a back scratch, or putting a hand around the other person’s shoulder.

10. Use AAA. Mira Kirshenbaum, psychotherapist and author of “The Weekend Marriage” explains that when your significant other is upset over something you’ve done, you should apply the AAA approach. This stands for apology, affection, and a promise of action. To elaborate:

Tell your partner that you’re sorry that you’ve hurt or disappointment them.
Offer a meaningful gesture of warmth, such as a hug or a kiss.
Pledge to take action that is meaningful to them.
11. Focus on the positive. Dr. Terri Orbuch has been conducting a long-term study since 1986 on what makes couples happy and strengthens relationships. She advises that couples resolve to focus on the positive. She explains that happy couples focus on what is going well in their relationship, rather than focusing on what is going wrong.

In addition, if you do need to call attention to a negative aspect, try to do it in a positive way. For example, if your partner is messy try telling them something like the following: “It makes me so happy to come home to a clean house. When things are messy I feel stressed. Let’s come up with a solution together.”

12. Create couples rituals. Sarì Harrar and Rita DeMaria are the authors of the book “ The 7 Stages of Marriage”. They recommend that you strengthen your relationship by creating rituals just for the two of you. For example, every Saturday night can be date night. Another example can be having your coffee together every morning, or taking ten minutes to chat every night before going to bed.

13. Edit yourself. Dr. John Gottman is a researcher, author and Ph.D. psychologist known for his work on relationship stability. He’s best known for his book, “The Seven Principles of Making Marriage Work”. Dr. Gottman explains that couples who avoid saying every critical thought that pops into their head when discussing touchy topics are consistently the happiest.

14. Be supportive. There are many ways to be supportive of your partner, including the following:

Give emotional support: listen to them when they’re upset and need to talk.
Give compliments and praise.
Give them information that they might need.
Give them a hand when they need it. For example, doing their house chores when they have to put in extra hours at work.
15. Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Brené Brown, author of “Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead”, explains that vulnerability holds the key to emotional intimacy. She adds that vulnerability is about being honest with how we feel, about our fears, about what we need, and asking for what we need. It’s allowing ourselves to be truly seen by our partner, warts and all.

16. Say “I love you” with your actions. Perform little acts of kindness for your partner that let them know you love them. Some ideas include the following:

Warm her car on a cold morning.
Bring home take-out from his favorite Chinese restaurant.
Get up fifteen minutes before she does so that breakfast is ready when she walks into the kitchen.
When you’re out shopping get him a little surprise gift.
17. Fight fair. It’s not disagreements that destroy relationships, but how you deal with them. Dr. Phil—of Oprah fame—says the following about fighting fair:

“Disagreements are going to occur. The question is, do you go into it with a spirit of looking for resolution or do you go into it with a spirit of getting even, vengeance, control? You’ll never win if you do that. If you make your relationship a competition, that means your spouse has to lose in order for you to win. It’s not a competition;  it’s a partnership.”

Some of the tips he offers for fighting fair are the following:

Know what you’re trying to achieve.
Put boundaries around the discussion so that you don’t end up arguing about every negative thing that has ever happened in your relationship.
Avoid character assassination.
Practice active listening. Try paraphrasing to make sure that you understood what the other person said and ask for clarification if there’s something that you’re not clear about.
Set a time limit.
Be willing to compromise.
Reach an agreement on how you’re going to solve the issue.
18. Set goals as a couple. Be a team of two that’s striving to achieve a set of goals that you’ve set together and that are important to both of you. By setting goals together you’ll be achieving all of the following:

You’ll make sure that you’re both moving in the same direction.
Your wins are their wins.
You can celebrate together each time you achieve a milestone.
Studies have shown that one of the most important components of happiness is striving to achieve goals that you consider to be meaningful. In turn, one of the components of a happy relationship is having a set of goals that you’re trying to achieve together.

Conclusion

Strong relationships don’t just happen. In order to have a flourishing relationship with your significant other you have to do the work. Use the 18 tips above to begin strengthening your relationship right away. After all, a healthy relationship is an important component for living a great life.

Question of the Day..

99% of men that read this will have one word cross their mind first...lol

Why Dark Chocolates should be added to your Diet

Dark chocolate, also known as ‘black chocolate’, is made from the roasted cocoa beans of the cacao tree,  fat and sugar. Unlike milk chocolate, dark chocolate has no milk or much less. It is also less sweet in taste. In fact, the best quality dark chocolate—withcocoa percentages ranging from 70 to 99 percent—has a bitter sweet taste.
As dark chocolate feels decadent and tastes great, many people love it. You can enjoy it as a piece of candy or add it to smoothies or homemade cakes and muffins. Dark chocolate can be a healthy treat, as long as you choose wisely and eat it in moderation.
Made from the seed of the cacao tree, it is one of the best sources of antioxidants on the planet. Other healthy nutrients in dark chocolate are soluble fiber, potassium, manganese, zinc, selenium, copper, magnesium and iron.

1. Relieves Stress

To relieve stress or lift a low mood, you can always rely on dark chocolate. It helps increase the levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin that acts as a natural antidepressants.
Research done by scientists from the Nestle Research Center in Switzerland and published online in the American Chemical Society’s Journal of Proteome Research confirmed that the chemical compounds in dark chocolate play a key role in improving the disposition of people who experience higher levels of stress.
They found that eating about 1.4 ounces of dark chocolate daily for two weeks can reduce levels of stress hormones in people feeling highly stressed.
Plus, dark chocolate has magnesium that helps fight stress, fatigue, depression and irritability. When eating chocolate to fight stress, make sure it has more than 85 percent cocoa.

2. Lowers Cholesterol Level

The cocoa in dark chocolate has been shown to reduce LDL or low-density lipoprotein (the bad cholesterol)level in the blood that can clog the veins and inner walls of the arteries and inhibit proper functioning.
The powerful antioxidants in dark chocolate also prevent the oxidization of LDL, in turn reducing the risk of heart attacks or strokes.
Evidence from clinical studies also shows that cocoa may increase the HDL or high-density lipoprotein (the good cholesterol) level. It is unclear whether this is due to the presence of flavonoids or theobromine in cocoa.

3. Reduces Blood Pressure

Dark chocolate can also reduce high blood pressure. Flavanol, a flavonoid present in cocoa, helps lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to your heart.
The flavanol in dark chocolate stimulates the endothelium, the lining of arteries, to produce nitric oxide. Nitric oxide sends signals to the arteries to relax, which lowers resistance to blood flow and thus reduces blood pressure.
With lower blood pressure, there is also less chance of suffering from many types of heart diseases like heart failure, atrial fibrillation and atherosclerosis. It can even reduce the risk of cognitive decline, dementia and stroke.
Simply eat a small piece of dark chocolate daily to lower your blood pressure. Be sure to choose dark chocolate that is at least 70 percent cocoa.

4. Prevents Stroke

Eating dark chocolate in moderation regularly can even lower the chance of stroke in later life. This is due to its high level of flavonoids, a type of antioxidant. Flavonoids can reduce blood stickiness and prevent blood clotting, which in turn helps stave off heart attacks and strokes.
Researchers at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute studied more than 37,000 men between the ages of 45 and 79 for about 10 years. They found that those who ate about 2.2 ounces per week had a 17 percent lower risk of having a stroke during that time period compared to those who ate little or no chocolate.
To improve blood flow in the brain and cut the risk of stroke, eat a single bar of dark chocolate once a week.

5. Boosts Brain Power

Dark chocolate also improves brain function. According to a study done at University of Nottingham, consuming dark chocolate can boost blood flow in the brain for up to three hours. This, in turn, improves short-term memory and general alertness levels for short periods.
Plus, the high amount of flavanol found in dark chocolate also improves brain function for people fighting sleep deprivation, and even slow the effects of aging by increasing circulation.
Plus, the cocoa in dark chocolate improves concentration, response time and memory recall.
